The Existence of God (Part – I)

For centuries, theists were puzzled by an astonishing question: how God exists? or who created God?

It is quite natural to have this question. Even so many youngsters deem such questions as undermining the authenticity of religion.

The key to this question is found in Bible itself. Gen 1:1[1] conveys the presence of a pre-existent Being. It also informs that everything that can be visualized now was created by God at “some point” of time. This verse in fact is a testament to the fact that God was active and was acting even “before” the time began.[2]

But the common delusion of atheists on “how God came into being?” has to be remedied. Though there are multiple interpretations regarding this quest, two easily comprehensible arguments are presented below:

1.
     As God created time,[3] He[4] exists outside time. It is natural to assume that every existence owes to Cause and Effect theory as everything in this universe exists because of a cause.[5] It should also be taken into consideration that Cause and Effect operates only in the dimension of time. Without the dimension of time, there is no Cause and Effect, and all things that could exist in such a realm would have no need of being caused but would have always existed. Thus, God existing outside time has no need of being created. God being the creator of time is never limited by Cause and Effect and it would never apply to Him.

2.
     Bible has many indications that there exist more than just three dimensions.[6] Therefore it could be logically assumed that God exists in more than one dimensions of time. Things that exist in one dimension of time are limited to time’s arrow and are confined to Cause and Effect. However, two dimensions of time form a plane of time, which has neither beginning nor end and is therefore not limited to any single direction. A being that exists in at least two dimensions of time can travel anywhere in time and yet never had a beginning since a plane of time has no starting point.

   Bottom line: Therefore God has no need of having been created and remains “the Uncreated.”

[1] “In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.” (Gen 1:1; KJV)
[2] There are many things that God was involved in, before the time began. Here are some examples: 1 Cori 2:7; 2 Tim 1:9; Tit 1:2; Jude 1:25
[3] God is independent and self-existing “from everlasting to everlasting” (Psalm 90:1-4Psalm 102:25-27Isaiah 40:28-31John 5:26,  Revelation 4:10) and thus only He can responsible for the creation of time.
[4]  The limitation of language permits the writer to refer to God as only “He”, though Bible has multiple indications of masculine and feminine (Matthew 23:37; Proverbs 1:20, 8:11, 9:1; Genesis 1:27) references to God. In essence, Bible insists that God is neither male nor female but Spirit (John 4:24).
[5] Some assume that the universe itself is eternal, eliminating the need for its creation (e.g.: Buddhist and Jainism Cosmologies). But the observational evidence contradicts this hypothesis, since the universe began to exist a finite ~13.8 billion years ago.
[6] Some instances are as follows: Genesis 5:24 and Hebrews 11:5; John 20:19-23, 26-29;
The Bible’s description of God as omnipotent, omniscient, omnipresent and infinite cannot be explained using the three-dimensional language. One cannot comprehend these characteristics of God unless associated with dimensions unnatural to humans, and at the same time mentioned by the Bible. God has to be existing on a higher dimension, as a higher-dimensional being - is only omnipotent, omniscient, etc. to lower dimensional beings. The existence of higher dimensions clearly explains all of these powers attributed to God.
